good for you on the special ed thing. not sure if you picked it up from my update on TCT in the oldtimers thread, but my son adam has asperger's syndrome. he is going into kindergarten in the fall. i've been learning so much about ASDs and also about how the whole thing works with IEPs, etc. most of the time, i feel like i am on overload with all of it.

elementary school is such a happy place - if you have been teaching in middle school, God Bless! i know i could never have the patience for teaching in the first place, and then there are all the politics... makes me crazy when damon talks about it.

so where in NC are you these days? are you going to stay in the area when you change schools?

Middle school has been an interesting experiment, for sure. But it's not for me. I'm excited about elementary school. And teaching spec. ed. I imagine it's a bit overwhelming for you to be getting into with IEPs and what not... but hopefully you'll be involved with professionals who know what they're doing.

I'm in the same general area, between Greensboro and Durham. I'm moving back towards Durham during the summer. I seem to like that area the best... it's almost like home.
